The Amygdala

Set deep in the medial temporal lobe, the amygdala is a beautiful almond shape and is heavily involved in the processing of emotions. The amygdala is linked to both fear and pleasure, and malfunctioning amygdalas are suspected in cases such as anxiety, depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and even phobias.
